Bad Luck Wind

Here's the opening page of a daft four-pager I've just finished.

I'm working on new pages for a new issue of my odds and sods comic 'Random' so I'm holding back on splurging all the pages out online.

Finally, I've got round to creating a logo for my recurring shaggy dog of a character 'Spaceman' (yes, I am a Spiritualized fan).

Below, is an early appearance of the character from waaaaaay back when with hand drawn logo. Around then I thought 'Photoshop' was like a branch of 'Snappy Snaps'. Image found on 'Irish Comics Wiki'.

Hmmmm, where did all that messy cross-hatching go to?

Children's Illustrations

Below is a number of examples of interior full bleed spreads I completed for a 48-page children's publication last year.

It was a lot of fun to work in such a brash, bold style and play about with simplified character designs.

Aaaawwww!

New Empress Magazine - Carlton Cinema

Below is a full-page illustration created for the second issue of New Empress magazine.

The article highlighted the architectural splendour of the now sadly derelict Carlton Cinema, Essex Road, North London, which opened in 1930.

The brief was to create an illustration which looked like it advertised the cinema in its newly opened Art Deco period magnificence.

This is the initial detailed pencil work:

Twenty Thousand Roads...

I've recently created a one-off piece for my brother's 40th. He's a massive fan of Gram Parsons so created this using pencil, watercolour, ink and... sequins.
